摘要：随着中国国际化进程的加快，中国与国际的接轨，大量的外国友人来到中国，使汉语公示语的繁育显得日益重要，良好的语言环境有助于提升中国的国际形象，因此正确规范的公示语翻译显得尤为重要。特别是湖南的省会长沙，作为华中地区乃至全中国发展最快的城市，在这方面的需要更为突出。然而目前中国的汉语公示语的英译却不尽如人意，传统的翻译理论已经不能适用于当今的公示语翻译，中西方文化的语言差异使得“中国式英语”的公示语翻译比比皆是。语法错误，用法不当，甚至是拼写错误的公示语频繁出现在我们日常生活中，有碍于中国的国际形象。本文意在结合功能目的论的目的法则，连贯法则分析汉语公示语的英译，对照其中存在的问题，进行分析和总结，并拟出相应的解决办法。

Translation of Public Signs in Changsha City Under Skopos Theory
Abstract: With the increasing moment of China award the internationalization,China contacts and cooperates with other foreign countries much more frequently,and the international exchanges have given rise to a growing need for public signs.The translation of public signs becomes more and more important to us now.China needs the normative language translation to improve its international status. Moreover, Changsha,the capital city of Hunan province,could consider as the speediest developing city in the central China, even the county as the whole.However, the traditional translation theories seem increasingly inadequate for public signs translation, and the current situation of public signs translation in China is far from satisfactory. The Chinglish translation public signs are common situations in China. To some extent, they are the impediment in international exchanges.This thesis discusses the C-E translation of public signs from the perspective of Skopos Theory. It points out the problems existing in the current translation and analyzes these problems by using the two rules of skopos theory: Skopos rule, coherence rule, gives strategies for C-E translations of public signs.
