摘  要：本文分别从中美两国的官方网站上选取四篇有关中国驻南盟大使馆被炸的权威政治新闻报道，并对其进行了对比性的案例分析。作者通过运用批评性话语分析方法，从词汇、及物性、语态和时态四个方面对这四篇英语政治新闻进行批评性话语分析，从而得出结论：中国新闻是对美国的公开抨击，而美国新闻代表着本身的立场，旨在拉近与公民的距离以及获得读者的共鸣，这主要是与美国政府的外交政策、文化传统以及长期以来西方国家对东方国家持有的东方主义情结有关。本研究对提高读者的批判性话语意识有重大意义，并有助于他们就话语领域内的意识形态和不平等权势关系进行斗争。

Critical Discourse Analysis of Political News in English   Author: Zhou Ye 
Abstract: This thesis carries out a contrastive case analysis of four authentic political news report samples about Chinese embassy bombing selected from the official websites of Chinese and American prestigious media respectively. The author makes a critical discourse analysis of four English political news reports by applying the analytical methods in terms of lexical classification, transitivity, voice and modality. It is concluded that Chinese news is to show its denouncement to America, while American news speaks on behalf of itself to narrow the distance from its citizens and get support from the readers, mainly because of the foreign policies made by the American administration, American cultural traditions and Orientalism ideologies prevailed in the western countries, etc. The research findings and discussions are of great significance to help promote readers’s critical ideologies of their environments and their understandings of how language contributes to generate the unequal social power relations.
