摘  要：哈代的小说中充满了宿命论思想，这一点在他的小说《德伯家的苔丝》中表现得尤为突出。本文分析了哈代的宿命论思想的社会背景，以及小说女主人公苔丝在一系列看似巧合的遭遇中表现出来的性格特征，男主人公克莱尔以及安琪尔的人物形象，论证了哈代是如何把这些现象归结于宿命的安排，并在小说中通过三位主人公表达他的宿命论思想。

On Hardy’s Fatalism by Analyzing the Main Characters in Tess of the D’Urbervilles
Abstract: Hardy’s novels are full of fatalism, which is very obvious in his tragedy Tess of the D’Urbervilles. By firstly analyzing the social background of Hardy’s time and his Tess of the D’Urbervilles, and then Tess’s coincidental experience and Angel’s double character and Alec’s two destroys to Tess, this paper discusses how Hardy attributes these phenomenons to fatalism and expresses his fatalism through the three main characters.
