摘  要：称谓语是语言交际中不可或缺的组成部分, 也是一种重要的社会语言学现象，含有浓厚的文化特色和语用特点。由于称谓语在人们的交流过程中能够表明人民之间的地位、关系、态度和情感等等，所以了解它们的不同用法和语用功能对人们顺利达到交流目的将非常有益。基于此目的，本文采用对比的研究方法，对英汉称谓语的异同和互译进行较深入的研究。本研究对中英文称谓语的学习与应用具有重要启示作用。

The Comparison and Translation  of English and Chinese Forms of Address
                   
Abstract: Address is a necessary factor in language communication and it is also an important sociolinguistic phenomenon, carrying strong cultural flavors and pragmatic characteristics. As the appellation terms used in speech can indicate the status relationship, people’s attitude and emotion etc, understanding their usages and pragmatic functions can be of great help to successful communication. For this purpose, this thesis explores the similarities and differences of appellation systems and translation between English and Chinese.
