 After ten years of steady development during which time the size of the average RCC dam did not increase, in the past three or four years the size of RCC dams has increased rapidly. There is now sufficient confidence in the method of construction for not only gravity dams of any reasonable size to be constructed, but also arch-gravity RCC dams and even arch'RCC dams. In parallel with this increasing confidence, there have been a number of developments that are maintaining the simplicity and economy of the RCC dam method construction.
