摘  要：随着我国农村合作金融体制改革的不断深化，股份制已经成为农村信用社改革的主导方向，将经营情况良好的农村信用社改造为农村商业银行的步伐日趋加快。本文通过了解湖南省农村信用社股份制改革的现状，从如何改革产权、公司治理和竞争对象方面着手，使农信社作为地方性法人银行机构在面对金融市场的不断开放，区域内日趋激烈的金融业竞争，如何进行有效的体制建设和机制转换，如何克服自身弱势，在竞争中寻求生存与发展。
